Schoolchildren Explore Cotton Growing in Salyan Agropark

12.02.2025

During the winter holidays, schoolchildren went on an excursion to the Agropark located in Salyan. Organized by Aztasarrufat LLC, the trip gave students the opportunity to closely observe the processes involved in cotton growing.
During the excursion, Zumrud Shahova, an employee of Aztasarrufat LLC, provided the schoolchildren with detailed information about the cotton fields, the cotton processing plant, and the sowing process. The visit began with a tour of the cotton processing plant, where students were shown the stages of cotton production, including receiving, cleaning, fiber and seed separation, quality testing, and processing. It was explained that cotton seeds are used for oil production and replanting, while the processed fibers are used in the textile industry to manufacture fabrics, medical cotton, and paper products. Additionally, cotton waste is repurposed as animal feed and biofuel.
Following this, the schoolchildren visited the cotton fields, where they learned about soil preparation for planting. They were introduced to key agricultural practices such as soil plowing, aeration, and proper water distribution, all of which contribute to improved cotton crop productivity.
The excursion provided the schoolchildren with valuable insights into the significance of the cotton industry and agriculture. Encouraging young people to take an interest in agriculture and guiding them towards this field plays a crucial role in the country’s future development. As the Great Leader Haydar Aliyev once said: “Children are our future, and the future of our country, nation, and state will depend on how we educate them.”
